Emre Yılmaz

Computer Engineering Student at Bahçeşehir University

I build AI-assisted products end to end — from trained computer-vision models to the full-stack systems around them. My focus spans applied machine learning and product engineering, most recently combining a locally-run object-detection pipeline with a multi-criteria decision engine and an LLM explanation layer.

  • Completed the full-stack development of a chatbot application using React (frontend) and Flask (backend).
  • Designed and implemented RESTful APIs with modular routing and service layers.
  • Integrated SQL Server for data persistence using parameterized queries for secure database operations.
  • Deployed and tested the system on a Linux-based Ubuntu Server running on a VirtualBox VM.
  • Troubleshot a Docker service failure caused by a system update and restored container functionality.
  • Collaborated with the IT team on backend architecture, system administration, and version control best practices.

Projects

Academic and open-source work — coursework, coursework-adjacent research, and public repositories.

SmartPick — AI-Powered Smartphone Decision Support Capstone

Led computer-vision development on a 7-person cross-departmental team, building a system that recognizes a phone from a photo and ranks it against alternatives using multi-criteria decision analysis, explained in plain language by an LLM.

elliotBot Public

A Python bot project exploring automated task and workflow handling.

matchPred Public

A Python project applying predictive modeling techniques to match and outcome data.

Developer Tooling

Reusable process infrastructure for shipping solo projects — gated pipelines that enforce evidence and validation before code, rather than relying on discipline alone.

boring-stack-template Public

A Workflow OS starter template for solo app development: Expo Router, Zustand, and SQLite paired with structured process/ templates, Claude slash commands, a cap-check pre-commit hook, and CI — built to make project abandonment mechanically harder, not just less tempting.

mobile-pipeline Public

A gated, state-machine pipeline for taking a mobile app from idea to post-launch — framework-agnostic by design, with no app code until an architecture phase decides the stack. Each of its 8 phases pairs a Claude command with required artifacts and a gate script that checks them mechanically before the next phase unlocks.

Ventures

Independent products I'm building outside of coursework — from first prototype through active development.

Notsal Private

A production-ready EdTech platform for note-sharing, Q&A, and community moderation workflows, with security-first data access (RLS, strict validation, CSP/HSTS) and CI/CD pipelines built for gated, recoverable deploys.

Eventiary In Development

A mobile app for logging and revisiting live events — concerts, screenings, and more — built around a simple, personal event diary. Currently in active development, moving through a disciplined build process on the way to a public release.
